MBA FEATURE Sea Otter Classic
Louis Vuitton: We spotted this unique Intense Tracer at the DVO
Suspension booth. The entire bike was tricked out with custom
Louis Vuitton graphics—from the rims up to the grips. This just
might be the ultimate Beverly Hills shredder.
Red Bull Rampage: Kona showed off the bike Graham Agassiz,
aka “Aggy,” rode at last year’s Red Bull Rampage. During his run
down the mountain, he crashed while doing a 360 off the side of a
huge cliff. His bike only showed minor scratches, which was surprising considering how hard Aggy crashed.
Eye-catching: Santa Cruz is well known for their bright-colored,
attention-grabbing bikes. Going into the 2017 Enduro World
Series, Santa Cruz decided to give their racers a bike that would
stand out from the rest. We think they succeeded.
Phoenix Carbon: Pivot’s carbon Phoenix has been raced at
the top gravity events in the world, including Crankworx, Red
Bull Hardline and the Downhill World Cup. If that’s not enough
to prove to you this bike’s worth, then just take a look at one of
Bernard Kerr’s videos where he lands a 30-foot gap into a nose
wheelie. This is one seriously light and fast gravity rig that’s more
than willing to handle the abuse of top-level riders.
Full custom: This custom-painted Transition quickly caught our
eye at the show. If you take a closer look, you will see that the
frame has been painted with a bush-like camouflage.
Mayhem: The Mayhem is a new bike from Spot that features
130 millimeters of travel and is compatible with 27. 5+ or 29-inch
wheels. This bike is built with TeXtreme carbon fiber and uses
Spot’s proprietary Living Link suspension linkage. ❏
