Forgeline Motorsports is a
family-owned maker of
made-to-order, lightweight
forged aluminum street and
competition wheels.
From design and engineering
to machining and testing,
every Forgeline wheel is
manufactured in Dayton, Ohio.
The base metal is heat-treated 6061-T6 aluminum,
forged on a 6,000-ton hydraulic
press in California, keeping it a
100 percent American-made
product. Maintaining all the
production under one roof
allows Forgeline to create
one-off custom wheels for both
road and competition use.
The latest competition wheel
is the GE1R (BELOW) made
specifically for all center-lock
racecar applications, as well
as older Porsche center-lock
applications. Sizes range from
18in. x 9in. up to 21in. x 12in.

“We’ve done some work with carbon
fiber wheels, but the problem is that the
whole wheel has to be molded for every
offset,” says Dave. “We’re in the process
of working with another advanced
material that, unlike carbon fiber, allows
us to machine the centers for a much
more practical alternative.”
Today, motorsport remains the soul,
and key, to Forgeline’s business. Noting
that what their street car customers desire
is driven by what they develop for the race
track, Dave Schardt states an unequivocal
commitment to racing. Currently, Forgeline
products own a large slice of the
Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge GS
and World Challenge GTS fields. But, as
