2016 ROARS INTO ACTION
Just a few miles down the road from its
Palmetto, Fla., base, Team Pelfrey took
a pair of 1-2 results at the St. Petersburg
Pro Mazda Presented by Cooper Tires
Mexico’s Patricio O’Ward (ABOVE) led
rookie Aaron Telitz in Race 1, with Telitz
reversing the order in Race 2. And just
to make it a near-perfect weekend for
the Pelfrey posse, Weiron Tan followed
up a fifth in the first race with third and
a Pelfrey podium-sweep in Race 2.
Rookies Jake Eidson (third in Race 1),
Nico Jamin and Jake Parsons showed
that the season is unlikely to be a
Pelfrey benefit – not that O’Ward and
Telitz would be too upset if it was...
“The weekend went about as well as
I could ever have imagined,” noted Telitz.

podium. But the Swede admitted his first
weekend of Indy Lights action had been a
physically and mentally challenging one.
“I’m not used to racing for so long,
so it was difficult,” said Belardi Auto
Racing’s Rosenqvist. “Most of the races
I’ve done are half an hour. Here, you have
to be on it every lap and keep your
concentration up, so it’s mental and
physical. But the car was great today,
and that’s why I decided to go with
Belardi. Everyone is working in the same
direction and that’s the key to success.”
