Get up bright and early for the day’s seminars; stop at
Buongiorno Espresso Bar (502 Ninth Ave., at the
corner of 38th Street) on your way to the Javits Center
for breakfast and a high-octane espresso—you’re going
to need it.
9:00 a.m.-6: 30 p.m.
Arrive at the Javits Center in time to take advantage of the WPPI U seminar track. Highlights include: “The Knot Presents: Getting Published,
How to Think Like an Editor” (9:15-10: 45 a.m.);
“Family Portraits: The Big Money Makers” with
Michele Celentano (11: 15 a.m.-12: 45 p.m.); “Posing &
Lighting for Weddings” with Bambi Cantrell (2:15-
3: 45 p.m.); and “Get Real: A Case for Authenticity in
Wedding Imagery” with Denis Reggie (4:15-5: 45 p.m.).
You’ll need fuel between sessions—try the Javits’ Level 3
Food Court for a smoothie, salad or sandwich. Or take an
insider’s tip: leave the Javits and head east two blocks to
Ninth Ave. to Market Café at the corner of 38th Street for
a French country salad with endive and smoked chicken.
Your brain is mush from information overload; head to The
Red Cat (227 Tenth Ave.) for a comforting Pappardelle
pasta or a juicy burger and a glass of Tempranillo.
9: 30 p.m.
Hit the sack or have a nightcap pint around the corner at
the Half King (505 W. 23rd St.).
